No Brainer Book 2 of the Darcy Walker Series A J Lape Books
In book two, No Brainer, the mystery plot becomes more complicated. But, there is nothing to fear. Darcy will help :). In this story, Darcy not only becomes involved in the disappearance case of a little boy named Cisco Medina, but she also helps Dylan's grandfather Lincoln with a mobster case. And, because she needs all the help that she can get, she recruits more people into her brotherhood, and one of those persons is Kyd, a rival of Dylan for Darcy's affection. This book has lots of humor, and the mystery is so good that it ends with a cliffhanger... What I really like about this mystery series is that the heroine, Darcy, is quite smart and strong, and she's always trying to help, no matter who the people are. :)P.S. I'm sorry, but what's wrong with Dylan? He's so possessive for such a young age. And, the way he talks... I just can't get it through me that he's only sixteen and not in his late twenties. Also, what's up with the way he gets all mad if a guy pays attention to Darcy, but he has not only kissed, but has dated other girls in the past. It's really not fair, when you see that Darcy, even though she's not sure that she's ready to date anybody yet, wants to wait for Dylan until she's ready. She's waiting, why can't he, if he loves her? I'm so sorry, but again, I don't know, I'm just not feeling the whole Darcy+Dylan, right now. :/

No Brainer Book 2 of the Darcy Walker Series A J Lape Books Reviews
We wanted more, and boy oh boy, AJ did NOT disappoint. Book two in the Darcy Walker series brings back everything we loved from the beginning plus more! The mystery, the danger, the suspense, the humor, cat fights; No Brainer has it all.
So you are going to go on a summer vacation with your super hot best friend and his family. You would be able to stay out of trouble wouldn't you? Well not Darcy Walker. In typical Darcy fashion, Darcy is back to being a verb and refusing to be a noun. And now she is taking it up a notch, sticking her nose in more than one dangerous situation.
No Brainer is another amazing 5 star story. You will be laughing until you cry and biting your nails over the suspense. I recommend this book to the young and the young at heart. Everyone will find this read enjoyable. And fear not! The third book of this series will be out this fall. I can't wait to read about Darcy's next exciting journey.
Wow. Just when I thought AJ Lape couldn't pack more of a punch into a mystery-suspense YA book, she did. This smartly-written, kick-A$$ book will fill you up with Darcy's thoughts and take you through her crazy rollercoaster ride of how she wraps herself up in an unsolved mystery that will pull at your heart strings. Putting the mystery solving aside, let's discuss the sweet romance that's ticking away like a time-bomb... It will have you screaming at Darcy and wishing you could suck face with her infamous best friend and other half, Dylan. A great, fast-paced, intelligent and heartwarming read. I one-clicked the next book in the series as soon as I read the last page.
A whole new cast of fabulous characters invades Darcy’s world when she travels to Orlando for vacation. On a serious ADHD binge, Darcy juggles two separate mysteries while driving Dylan’s family crazy in the process. The romance factor is jacked up a notch as Darcy wrestles with her evolving feelings for two seemingly perfect guys and fends off the advances of several seriously imperfect ones. The danger here is upped as well. No longer dealing with high school thugs, she’s in deep with mobsters who would rather chop off an appendage than look at her. All the humor and goofiness that is Darcy Walker is still exactly where it should be, and I laughed all the way through the book. I just can’t get enough of this fantastic mystery series!
3.5 Stars
I'm a glutton for punishment it seems. It took me a little time to get into this but I finally did. The writing is good but the way these kids talk sometimes is confusing. And Darcy comes across as smart sometimes and incredibly stupid at others....or clueless.
In this one she decides that rather than enjoy a lovely vacation in Florida hobnobbing with the wealthy and flirting with the cute guys she is surrounded by, she decides she is going to solve a missing persons case. A fifteen year old girl with no self preservation who also manages to rope in others into her insanity. As what generally happens, she kinds of stumbles onto things that lands her into hot water. And if that doesn't happen, she purposely walks into dangerous situations. Her excuse? She's just wired that way. How she manages to survive is anyone's guess, but our Darcy does manage to scrape by with her life intact.
Then there is Dylan. I'm with Sydney. It is so obvious but these two just keep circling around the wagon. They fear losing each other and yet they just can't seem to face the reality that they feel more than friendship for the other. And the way they talk and act with each other is just too intimate for teenagers who are that dense.
So at the end, although I'll definitely read the rest of the series, I feel like a glutton for punishment. These teens are driving me absolutely crazy with their actions and inaction. I just find it incredulous that someone hasn't been seriously hurt before the end of this book.
